Department of Pathology

The Department of Pathology shall be involved in

  • undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and learning,
  • research and
  • diagnostic work which includes histopathology, Haematology, cytology etc.
  • specialized areas of diagnostic work such as
    a. immunohistochemistry,
    b. prognostication of breast carcinoma, renal pathology, dermatopathology, urological pathology, soft tissue and bone tumour pathology, perinatal and fetal pathology, neuro pathology etc.
  • producing medical graduates who are able to link the cause and effects of disease and
    to apply this knowledge in providing optimal patient care.
