The Department of Physiology shall,

• Dedicate in helping medical, para-medical science students and postgraduates to understand how the human body works through the fundamental physiological processes and translating these to clinical practice.
•  play a pivotal role in teaching activities within the faculty whilst also contributing with teaching activities in many other departments and units, including the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, etc.
•  attend in the future to new advances such as
  a. The development of a Physiology Museum,
  b. The development of graduate or postgraduate courses for example for Medical
  Laboratory Technicians etc.
  c. The development of subspeciality laboratories such as Neurophysiology etc.
• provide diagnostic services through both
  a. basic laboratory testing
  b. as well as specialized Laboratory services such as lung function testing etc.
