The Department of Public Health shall

  • contribute substantially to the organization and implementation of the undergraduate Community Stream teaching program which spans over first 4 years of the curriculum.
  •  train postgraduate students in Community Medicine.
  •  Train overseas undergraduate Electives Students.
  • carry out research at the Community Health Project area (Medical Officer of Health area).
  • Have a Health Systems Research Unit (HSRU), Occupational Health Unit etc
  • be designated as a WHO Collaborating Centre for Training and Research in Occupational Health.
