Department of Paediatrics

The Department will

  •  be responsible for teaching Paediatrics to undergraduate medical students and postgraduate training activities.
  • have research interests of the department academics include Gastroenterology, Developmental Paediatrics, Neurology, Endocrinology, Neonatology, Intensive Care, Nutrition, Nephrology, and Speech and Language development.
  •  also conduct specialised Child Development, Renal, Endocrine, and Obesity clinics at TH Badulla.
  •  include an instructor in social work, research assistants, technical, administrative, and secretarial staff.
  •  serve on numerous national and international committees dedicated to the progress of paediatrics and national health policies pertaining to child health.
